Day 9 – Eildon to Marysville. 50 km, 400m total climbing.

Up before dawn taking photos of the mist over the pondage.  Ate breakfast where we camped and could have easily spent all day there.  Heated up very quickly and thankful that it was a short and relatively easy day.

Pleasant riding but heat kicked in on any climb or if you stopped.  Had to queue for several minutes to get across the Rubicon, and after creating a low range had a wonderful descent to Taggerty. Getting hot by Buxton, so stopped at the pub for a lemon squash, then onto the final ride up the valley to Marysville.  Got pretty busy as school groups reformed at the side of the road to ride in together, and absolutely packed at the finish.

Found some shade to recover for a bit, then finally got the bike on the truck and me on the bus and almost immediately started dozing.
